Lully MAC Ballet School

Policies & Procedures

Communication

Lully MAC encourages parents to take an active role in their child’s dance education.  Feel free to contact the studio office with any questions or concerns.  Classes should only be interrupted for emergencies.  If you wish to speak with your child’s instructor, please do so at an appropriate time.  Between classes can sometimes be too rushed so we ask that you schedule a parent/teacher conference to discuss personal matters regarding your child’s training.

It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to keep informed of studio news and be aware of special events, rehearsals, and holidays or breaks.  Important announcements will be made by email, posted on studio bulletin boards,  and available on the parent pages of our website.  Please check the bulletin boards and website regularly.  Please also make sure we have your correct email address, phone number, and mailing address.

Dress Code

The dress code at Lully MAC Ballet School is designed so that instructors can see the dancer’s posture and whether she/he is using correct technique.  It also creates a professional atmosphere by eliminating the distraction of color, style and print variations.  Equality is created along with a sense of discipline.  Dressing appropriately helps dancers achieve higher success and in turn raises their confidence.  For safety purposes necklaces, watches, bracelets, and dangling earrings are not permitted during class.  Hair should be neatly secured away from the face.

Care of Students

The school is not responsible for before or after class care of students.  No one is permitted in the dance studio without an instructor present.  Parents with students under the age of 10 are expected to supervise their children until the teacher begins class and to pick them up immediately upon the end of class.  Students under 18 are not to be left at the school for excessive amounts of time before or after classes.  It is strongly recommended that dancers wear cover-ups over their dance clothes or change into street clothes before exiting the school.  For safety reasons, students are not permitted to wait outside the building for their rides.

Personal Items

Lully MAC is not responsible for lost or stolen property.  It is strongly recommended that the dancer’s name be placed on all personal items and dancewear.  This will avoid any confusion when items are left behind.  If you lose an item, please check the Lost & Found box in the lobby.  The contents of the Lost & Found box will be emptied periodically and donated to charity.

Missed Classes and Make-up Classes

Students are expected to maintain regular attendance throughout the dance year, missing only when ill or for family emergencies.  The original class in which the student is placed is more valuable than a make-up class; it is in the student’s best interest to attend the class in which she/he is enrolled.  Missed classes can be made up in another class within 60 days of the absence; consult the instructor for his/her recommendation and scheduling.  Make-ups remain eligible for a maximum of 60 days after the absence, as long as the student is still enrolled.  Refunds are not given for missed classes.

Allergies

It is the responsibility of the parent to inform the school of any severe food and/or environmental allergies suffered by the student.

Injuries

Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal class activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class.  Parents and/or students are solely responsible for any and all costs, damages, and expenses incurred by them and/or their child as a result of any injury sustained from participation in any class taken at Lully MAC Ballet School.  Lully Moving Arts Corp requests that each enrolled student consult with a physician with respect to any past or present illness or injury that may affect his/her participation in and/or ability to endure the exercise and/or dance program.
